Whaleshark was a scientific phenomenon here in Donsol for its migration in our waters in vast numbers. Years ago, locals view this giants as an enchanted creature and called it butanding. Some feared it for its size, some for their superstition that this is a spirit in Katondolan point. Their are stories that are attributed with this shark. Until, a group of divers from Sorsogon City learned about this giants. they discovered that it's a whaleshark with the scientific (rhincodon typus)..

Now, she gave us revenue, job, honor, glory..thanks that we don't kill this giants..People are afraid to kill these fish for the reason of superstition, lol good superstition.

Let us join hands in protecting our sharks..

Let us do responsible tourism and sustainable ecosystem..
